Senior Software Engineer: Backend (Python)

Paradym is a well-funded startup that is on a mission to disrupt the gaming industry and innovate player experiences.

The company has raised 10m$ funding.
There is significant growth potential and we estimate achieving an annual revenue rate of 200m$ by year 3, with a 10% to 20% profit margin.

Our 600m2 office is in Navigator building at Laeva 2, Tallinn
The team is currently 8 people and we are hiring the core development team.

We are building a B2C Gaming platform that will integrate with 3rd party services.

We will not be developing slot games at this point but we will be developing provably-fair games such as crash, mines, plinko etc.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer with a keen interest in backend development, problem-solving, and working within a dynamic team to build scalable solutions. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn and grow, possessing foundational knowledge in backend technologies like Python, Django, and FastAPI, as well as familiarity with SQL databases and queue-based architectures.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and our CTO to support and advance our backend systems and potentially contribute to front-end architecture.

This is a full-time remote position. You have the option to relocate to Tallinn, Estonia, or occasionally travel there for team meetings. Being available for a 4-5 hour overlap with the team's time zone is preferred.

• Experience in backend development, preferably with a portfolio or examples of past projects.
• Proficiency in our backend technology stack (Python, FastAPI, Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, etc.) or similar technologies. Capability to work with real-time protocols like WebSockets is advantageous.
• Skill in developing efficient and effective endpoints and schemas in collaboration with frontend teams. Thoughtfulness for frontend usage is highly sought after.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to building and testing solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teammates.
• Flexibility to work remotely and willingness to travel to Tallinn, Estonia for occasional team meetings.
